HOW TO WASH YOUR HAIR (THE RIGHT WAY) FOR HEALTHIER HAIR

Giving your hair the royal treatment doesn’t have to end when you leave the salon––especially when it comes to washing your hair.

While choosing the right hair care can be helpful, a healthy hair foundation all comes down to using the right cleansing techniques. We know, it sounds so basic since washing your hair can feel like second nature. As tempting as it can be to keep things moving and rinse out the hair quickly, the truth is that taking the extra time to properly cleanse your hair can be worth it in the long run. To keep your hair looking its best, consider rethinking how you wash your hair with these helpful tips.Washing your hair correctly can make a huge difference to the health of your hair, both internally and visually.

Some of the things to bear in mind and pay attention to

1.USE THE RIGHT SHAMPOO

This is a big one, it is super important to use the right shampoo for your hair. e.g if you have fine hair and you choose a heavy cream shampoo, your hair will look flat. Or if your hair needs moisture, but you use a protein shampoo.

Excess protein makes your hair feel dry and crunchy, while excess moisture will make it look limp and flat.

2. WET YOUR HAIR THOROUGHLY:

Make sure you thoroughly wet your hair before applying shampoo, this will ensure even distribution of the product and helps the shampoo to lather up well.
Let water run through your hair for 2 – 3 minutes before applying your shampoo.

3. ROOTS ONLY

This is again super important to note, apply shampoo only to the roots NOT the ends. The lather will run through the ends and that is enough to cleanse the ends.

4. ALWAYS DO TWO SHAMPOOS:

The first shampoo removes the surface dirt and product build up, the second cleanses the scalp.

5. RINSE WELL:

Rinse out the shampoo thoroughly before following through with a conditioner. Left over shampoo will cause product build up, making your hair look dull, often this is confused with dandruff or flaky scalp.

6. DO NOT WASH YOUR HAIR DAILY:

Over washing your hair causes more damage than doing any good. Each time you wash your hair, there is natural oils being stripped leaving your hair feeling dry. Try and limit washing your hair 3 times a week.

If your hair gets oily sooner, try using a dry shampoo or a cleansing conditioner
